Welcome to Rocky Top Pointers...  We are a small bird dog kennel in Eastern Tennessee.  We have some very nice bird dogs that we are very proud of.  Our goal is to compete in NSTRA dog trials, hunt wild birds, and support wild bird habitat for the future.  Our focus as you might imagine is "Bird Dogs". My story started over 20 years ago as a boy when I first saw a pair of bird dogs working and pointing on a video I was required to watch in order to earn my Hunters Education Certification at school.  I remember it well, as I watched those bird dogs work on film I was amazed. Of course my first words as a 10 year old boy when I got home were, "Mom, I want two bird dogs for Christmas".  Of course I was too young and bird dogs were not easy to come by in East TN.  After graduating school, work and family began and I got busy with life.  I thought that little episode was over it until about few years back I saw a couple of bird dogs at work and I was hooked.  This time the disease has been unstoppable.  I have attended a number of trials and with help from some good friends I met and purchased dogs from, I now have three very nice dogs that are trial and hunting prospects.  Feel free to view them on this website under Pedigrees. 

I am in the process of constructing a new kennel that should be completed by Spring.  You can see photos under the Photo Gallery as we progress.  Stay tuned as we continue to post upcoming kennel progress as well as trial accomplishments.  If you are interested in getting in to the bird dog circle make sure you buy good bloodlines and find good friends like I did to help with training your dogs.
